We are so excited to debut our latest project, a full-kitchen renovation in Chicago's North Shore.
This split-level midwest home that was built in the 60's. Our clients came to us to help re-imagine the kitchen for better function and flow. Of course, right when stepped foot in the space we knew we wanted to re-think the design to bring in the most natural light we could. There's something so beautiful about ensuring Mother Nature gets a seat at the table. We also selected light and bright colors that would keep the kitchen feeling fresh, modern and bright.
Our design concept was Elevated Cottage. We chose materials that felt natural and timeless while maintaining a level of refinement that our clients wanted. You can see the high-quality craftsmanship in the cabinetry and sophisticated pops of elegance in the gold hardware and plumbing fixtures.
Our clients really wanted open-shelving to be the spotlight of their kitchen. Our design challenge was to ensure we achieved the look that they wanted without sacrificing storage space or functionality. We love the outcome!
Let's talk about those chairs! They were actually our client's existing chairs that worked perfectly with our design (we love when that happens). We purchased a new dining table from one of our trusted trade partners, styled their space with Grandma's China and the end result was not only inviting but oh-so cozy.
We can't forget to mention these pendants! To us, the right balance of contrast is important to a well-appointed room. We chose black pendants to help offset the neutrals colors used in the paint, open-shelves and cabinetry. These pendants give off the most beautiful warm glow and feel so modern and ... let's just say it, cool.
We were able to work with the general contractor and HVAC tradesman on the project to gain more ceiling height by shortening the softit. This allowed us to make the most of the space and gain more height to the overall design.
In the end, our clients walked away with a beautiful kitchen that functions and flows as designed and we walked away with a wonderful client, turned friend. Thanks for going on this photo tour with us.
